I am breaking all the rules
So my favorite food blogger, http://amateurgourmet.com, emphasizes that one of the many ways to have a successful food blog is to post at least 3x/week. Um, let's see..... ok so I completely fail in that department but it's mostly so I don't have to write about today was good, today was slow, etc. I have no hook, no multiple photos, and is anyone who knows me surprised so far? I'll wait for the more juicy tidbits to share! And I'll get used to remembering to post more often.
Tomorrow is my biggest day on the books...18 lunches! No matter what that sounds like to you it is a big one for me and I am ready to go.
On a more serious note I am broken hearted over the earthquake in Chile, and many loved ones were affected but are ok. Please take time to donate to the Red Cross or other aid orgs.
amor y patria!

One Week In- Pre Order Training
I am learning that being a business owner is an emotional roller coaster. You have this concept that becomes like your child and it is all you can think about doing and growing and sharing... but at the end of the day it's just lunch! And I understand that too. I am changing my plan so that everyone pre-orders the day before delivery. Last week I had a lot of well intentioned customers but just too many leftovers, and as happy as I am to deliver to the Metro Food Bank, I can't make a living doing that. This has slowed things drastically. I mean, who really wants to plan ahead?! But then there is a light at the end of the tunnel and other customers are starting to email me with tomorrow's lunch orders and they give me hope! So much hope! I knew that even though what I wanted to do most was make good food to share with people, sales is still at the heart of my success. Thank you to all the early believers~

First Day in Business
I woke up ready to pick up my fresh baked bread by Blue Point Bakery at 7 a.m. Their office is so friendly and they even sent me out the door with breakfast! Next to the truck stop down the road for coffee, and yet more charming service. There is something about early morning energy I find so appealing. Off to the kitchen and I plugged in my ipod and went to work, furiously chopping, carmelizing, arranging, and smiling, because I am doing what I love.
My first day on the streets of downtown Denver as a business owner, and it was so exhilarating and also so frightening... can I retain my customers by dazzling them with my delicious lunches and reasonable pricing?
That remains to be seen but at least I sold most everything and cannot wait for tomorrow's trip to Sheridan/Hwy 36 area.
